Alina is an assistant physician in the second year of residency in the department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Medical Clinic and Policlinic II) at the LMU Hospital Munich. She studied medicine at the University Duisburg-Essen. During her doctoral studies at the department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Transplantation Medicine of the University Hospital Essen she was already intensively involved in experimental research in the fields of liver cirrhosis and liver transplantation. Her medical thesis dealt with the implications of single nucleotide polymorphisms of the vitamin D receptor gene on Vitamin D analog mediated immunological effects in liver cirrhosis and acute on chronic liver failure.
Nikola, like Alina, is a second-year resident in the department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Medical Clinic and Policlinic II) at the LMU Hospital Munich. He studied medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. For his doctoral thesis, Nikola worked on several projects in the field of neuro immunology within the DZNE (Deutsches Zentrum für neurodegenerative Erkrankungen). These projects focused on the therapeutic efficacy of anti-GA antibodies, including a modified passive antibody therapy against poly-GA, using adeno-associated viruses in a mouse model. He is passionate about applying his expertise to the field of liver cirrhosis and liver transplantation.
Severin is currently in his sixth year of medical training as a visceral surgeon at the Department of General, Visceral, and Transplant Surgery at LMU Hospital Munich. For the past three years, he has focused on machine perfusion. For his doctoral thesis, Severin worked on several projects in the field of tumor immunology within the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the same institution. He is enthusiastic about applying his immunological knowledge to the field of transplant surgery, aiming to improve outcomes for patients undergoing these critical procedures.
